    High Zs

Interesting, to clarify it was not 17th course that pointed it out, i asked them the question. It was in our last nic visit march 2008. As we our due our next visit at the end of this month i will again be asking the question again. Sorry if this seems pointless to you guys, but i always ask...

    High Zs

Thanks batty and special location. I am well aware of checking and verifying figures on circuits, i am a test engineer for an niceic approved contractor. It was more of a paperwork question rather than practice. I asked the question of the tutor as i am aware 411.5 is for tt supply and this...

    High Zs

Sorry batty, you misunderstand me. yes i agree a high zs needs to be clarified, but last year through annual visit of niceic we were told to be putting 1666 on forms as max permitted zs for rcd protected circuit. I did 17th upgrade course and exam 2 weeks ago and noticed change to 1667, in...

HI guys, Aside from the way out reading of r1 +r2 on 10mm, can someone confirm that if you have correct mcb and also protection by an rcd the max zs allowed is 1667 taken from table 41.5 page 50 17th edition. thanks

well i didnt like it all the same, so as the shower was goosed i talked customer to puttin it a 9.5. (which works out less cause rated at 240 volt not 230). But what it did teach of was 9.5 on 6mm is fine so long as not too long a run. And correctly protected.

    Continuity problem

That sort of reading i have come across before, 2 things to check for, Surge protection ext lead (customers always forget to unplug em) and last week had an rcd type switched fused spur. (of ring feeding a small waterfall in garden) When i took off rcd fcu, ring cleared, checked unit on its...

    Tripping troubles

HI Evans electric (deke) Sorry for not getting back to you with def of Global test, but i see others have. I know its a pain but we always do a quick neutral earth bar test before actually removing old board to make sure new one with rcd's will actually stay in. Also for future reference have...

Hi. If your serious about testing don't bother with 2392 its only a level 2 grade, whereas 2391 is a level 3 exam. Have just done my 17th upgrade and asked question about the 2391/2. tutor stated " the 2391 level 3 only had 40% of sparks pass it ( on my course 22 people took exam but only 2...
