2391 Test Rig - Lighting wired in singles or twin & earth ?

Test rig, IIRC, was wired in singles within conduit and included 3 phase motor isolation. Inspection rig was in T&E

EICR Condition Report Electrical Installation Condition Report

It is very sad that even 4 days into the AMD1 being a requirement the NICEIC are still showing PIR certs on their web site:red card Why they cannot show the EICR as an "arriving soon" instead is crazy. Don't know how the other schemers are coping with their versions, anyone?

    PAT testing

Remember, you will have to compete on price with the "Plug, press, sticker" brigade. No proper inspection, no fuse checking, minimal paperwork just in and out in a flash AND cheap. :red card How would you prove competency on your first job without the qualification?

    Frustrating

Tuesday I didn't want to be tracing a fault in a lighting circuit that I'd started last week. Bedroom floor up tracing cable runs, back down stairs to where I'd left a light fitting disconnected last week where the fault was traced up to. Now find I've got a dead short Neutral/Earth!!! That...

    3P breaker?? look closer...

They appear to be rated to 240/415V (certainly the second figure is 415) so no problem. If they weren't meant to be linked then they wouldn't make the levers hollow headbang

    Pilot wire

Done two schemes for a housing association a couple of years ago with the Dimplex system. Brilliant system, just like central heating but all electric. Black wire at the appliance does nothing so if not used insulate and forget.

I've used the lever type connectors for a while now for testing. Ideal for sticking the line and earth togehter for R1+R2 measurements and you can add a link to another block if the wires are too short/tangled to fit in the same one. For Ring circuits I have four connectors linked into pairs -...

    Door Entry/intercom system

A customer wants a door entry system with a fob entry, ideally cordless handset for his office which is upstairs with a downstairs front door. No-one else uses the door but he is sick of people coming in who are looking for the business downstairs, but doesn't want to have his staff getting up...
