Hello guys.
I am building a garage and have discovered a brand new roll of Red/Black 2.5mm Twin and Earth cable in my cupboard.
Now that we are no longer in EU, is it legal for it to be used?.
It would be such a waste buying new.
Thank you.
Hello guys
At first, I was locating the FCU for the Shower Pump outside the bathroom due to the environment.
On reflection, I am now feel I am able to locate it in the bathroom cupboard as it will be more than 600mm beyond the requirement of the Regs.
Please see the sketch I have attached...
Thanks to everyone.
I agree I may be over-reacting.
My first work on electricity without training was very involved, and at the end I fitted the Consumer Unit with tails dangling for the Board to come and connect. Having examined the work they said the job was so well done I may as well have...

Where the Regs are concerned is it necessary to provide mechanical protection to Twin & Earth when run inside an airing cupboard in the bathroom ?
I felt clipping to the wall would be better as that is where the hot water cylinder is. The cupboard is only lightly used to store...
Thank you.
After the info I got here, I checked out local suppliers and Screwfix do supply the type, Part No. 28489.
I initially thought of the suggestion drill it back to the wall but I was unsure of the Regs in any future inspection. So it must be Okay then ?
Much appreciated.
Many thanks to all for your responses. As two of you mentioned, I was in fact over cooking the problem.
I have now gone through checking things out. The boiler temperature was much too high when I first checked, hence my concern about the heating effect on the cable. And I had not yet decided...
Hello Sharpend.
I only did rough calculations with correction factors, using length of (1.5mm) cable starting at CU; ambient temperature where cylinder is located (closed cupboard), and length of cable exposed to that temperature within the cupboard. Whilst correction factors allow for...
Hello

It is the Open-Vent system and the Immersion Heater is in a cupboard next to the bath. The Heater have the correct Immersion cable. In checking out the correction...

I happened to be searching for a forum like this and selected this one.
Multi-skilled. I do have some electrical capabilities but I feel there is no harm in enhancing that capability.
And I like to double check.
