    What Size Cable Is Needed?

Having multiple jobs done and asking for different opinions in different places is OBVIOUSLY a bad idea, huh guys?  <_<

    Apple

Ha, nice. Well I was getting blue screens recently on the gaming rig I had custom-built for me and it didn't wipe any data, was just a dodgy hard drive that needed replacing. Luckily it was only the secondary drive and not the SSD that Windows is installed on. :P

    Apple

The only thing for me and I suspect a lot of other people is the price you pay for this. I mean, fair enough, Linux is free, but OSX is only available on Apple products meaning you pay through the ass for mid-range specs. As long as you're careful with Windows and you've got good anti-virus...

Decent 5.1 Surround Sound With Optical Port?

See, I was thinking of going the whole Amp route, but it's bloody expensive.. I was only looking at spending around £200-£250. As cheap as that sounds, I'm not looking for PERFECT sound, just looking for sound good enough for movies and games. :)

    What Size Cable Is Needed?

Just gave my electrician a phone, he's given me all the relevant information I need. Decided to buy the cable myself based on his recommendation but finding my own supplier. Would you say this is a good price for the SWA Cable? www.quickbit.co.uk/swa-cable-2-core Looked at a few sites and this...

    Panasonic Plasma

The only issue is now that Panasonic (Or any other company for that matter) have stopped making Plasmas, chances are it's going to be hard to find people who'll repair them. :/

are USB DTV dongles any good?

I've heard that Google Chromecast is meant to be good. And to be honest, most Google stuff is good. Also, it's cheap! :)

Decent 5.1 Surround Sound With Optical Port?

Recently bought myself a PS4 and a new Sony Bravia TV, looking to add a new surround sound system soon but as my new TV only has two HDMI ports, I need it to have an optical port so I don't have to keep unplugging and replacing all the time. Any one got any suggestions? :)

    All Region DVD player

I haven't tried it myself but I see no reason why it will do anything adverse to your DVD player. All you're doing is breaking the Region lock.

    Cheap Indulgence

Just for reference, I don't even use a dock as I'm loving my Jam 2 speaker that I got from Tesco. They're a little bit pricey at 40 odd quid but it's bluetooth and has a 3.5mm jack, and it's compact! Great sound too, and if you get two of them, you can wirelessly pair them for stereo sound :)

    surround sound set up

Due to my surround sound being quite old, it doesn't have an optical or HDMI port, so I'm currently using the Red and White audio cables on the scart cable for the actual PS3 and then plug them into the back of the PS3. Although that doesn't solve your issue of how to get sound through your Sky...

    Line Speed

Can't post my speedtest results as I'm not at home but I currently get around 55 Meg download and 18 meg upload from Plusnet. Can't fault them for speeds at all. And they're pretty cheap compared to a lot of companies out there.

    Apple

Ha, this doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Apple aren't indestructible and there's obviously holes in their systems SOMEWHERE, people just haven't found them yet.

    I-Phone Adapter

Yeah, to be honest, as others have suggested, if there is a 3.5mm jack, plug it into that and it'll work. Either that or find a dock for an original iPhone 4 or 4S. They shouldn't be hard to find, found loads in supermarkets such as Tesco. :)
