    Enclosure

I always daisy-chain downlighters using Click-flo connectors. Biggest advantages are you can pre-wire the loom sitting comfortably on your toolbox instead of in the loft or, if between floors, cables through joist holes and wire from above (again sitting on the toolbox) and then you end up with...

    Changes To Part P

There was no need to. You forget that you did the lights BEFORE you tiled the floor. :D

Maintaining Temperature And Humidity In A Gun Cabinet

If you only need a small amount of heat, what about soil-warming cable like are used in propagators.

    New Hot Tub Install

The job is the other side of the island, and I haven't got it yet so measurements can wait for later. The tub will be about 5 metres from the back of the house, 12 metres from the head but needs a 25 metre cable run. Supply cable comes in at the front so local rodding likely to be a long way...

Garden lighting from the same supply point.

    New Hot Tub Install

Don't know for sure whether it's PME, all supplies are undergound at this location. I could probably ask at the local depot but when I've asked for info from them before it's always been, "We'll get back to you". Still waiting... What am I looking for - better than 20 ohms or so? I'm assuming...

    New Hot Tub Install

Good points, and I forgot to say the CU would have a 63A 30mA RCD main switch although I think some tubs come with an RCD built in but I don't know for sure. Regarding local earthing, as I stated it will likely be class II so there should be no ECPs. However, a 6-8 person tub might be too heavy...

Is Something Is Going Wrong Here...?

Have a look at my latest topic, Deke. I will need a couple of rods at least when Steps sees it.

    New Hot Tub Install

I have been asked to provide an estimate to lay in the supply for a proposed hot tub in an existing customers back garden but they haven't yet chosen their new tub so manufacturers requirements are not available. I asked them, "How long is a piece of string" but the answer was, "Just give us a...

Is Something Is Going Wrong Here...?

A thoroughly enjoyable read, Steps, and one of the longest posts I can remember you making for a long time. Well done.  :Applaud :Salute And I agree with pretty well all that you are saying.

What I typed in inverted commas is how you replied to one of my posts a month or so back.

Is Something Is Going Wrong Here...?

I thought I had... "...I see you have been awarded about 150 scoob points so some people seem to like you and your rantings. I thought these points were originally about building a perception of reputation." ... but you probably wouldn't think anything else I posted that interesting either. :|

My apologies, admin3, I wasn't aware of that.

Is Something Is Going Wrong Here...?

I have just popped across to three other forums and you are, indeed, correct. However, at each of these forums the topics or sub-forum titles are visible immediately whereas here they are below the screen (at the resolution I use, anyway). What they don't have is a picture gallery which pushes...

Is Something Is Going Wrong Here...?

With all due respect, Manator, I don't think that is the answer. Like many of our members, I also visit alternative forums and each time I do there are numerous threads to catch up on. There appears to be no slowdown on these forums, so it begs the question of why is the same not happening...
