    Problem of the week

Hi, Whenever i get faults like this my approach maybe unusual but i tend to test the voltage at the fittings and get a good look at how its been wired. ( everyone is different ! ) Then i would disconnect cables and check which one is the feed and which ones are switches. Then it is just a case...

    Garage Electrics

Hi Adam, If i were you i would suggest some S.W.A ( Steel Wire Armored) and use the correct glanding kit. 2.5mm 3 core, 16Amp MCB but take it from the RCD side of the Fuseboard. Think the regs state that if a socket is going to be used for external use it needs to be RCD protected. So going...

Help wiring up four lights to a switch in the loft please?

Hi RandumIan, Does that make any sense ? sounds like you have bought all the correct materials. The guys do have a point though about the circuit being able to carry the additional load. Do you have circuits marked for lighting circuits up and one for lighting circuits down ? Would then be a...

    Dual RCD CU?

Hi All, Just adding my 2penneth, Think the 16th said that ANY Sockets that could be used for external work should be RCD protected and the 17th have gone mad ( in a good way ) saying that other circuits ie bathrooms etc should have RCD protection. Back in 2007 i think it would of been unusual...
