Coding For Low Insulation Resistance And Oven/immersions On Ring Eicr

Have it your way chaps.  The poor bloke is out of his depth here and a few lines on a forum by people who may not know much more than he is not going to help.  He needs to take a deep breath and re-group.  As for the unsolicited attack from 'Lurch'?  That says it all binky Lillpete, wear...

Coding For Low Insulation Resistance And Oven/immersions On Ring Eicr

The word 'mate' just slipped out.  It will be spat out next time around 'Sunshine' You said that my post was complete nonsense? I think I had it right to start with.  The OP has very little idea of what he is doing.  No more to say is there.  I suggested that a read of GN3 and perhaps a...

Coding For Low Insulation Resistance And Oven/immersions On Ring Eicr

Lurch, what are you talking.   Anyone who installs should be able to test.  He plainly does not know what he is doing so the best thing is to take a refresher course, at least read GN3.  If you cannot see this then there are two of you in the class already mate.

Unfair? The chap does not know what he is doing!  He has said that himself.  Get a refresher course and read CN3 or the BPG for help with codes.  I for one would NOT have missed the points noted.

With all due respect Lillpete, should you be carrying out inspection and testing?  I'd pass the work on to someone who knows what they are doing mate.  By posting basic stuff on here sets alarm bells off.  The best electricians are the ones who know their limitations and you have reached...

Can I Carry Out An Eicr?

About as deluded as you lot it seems.  No wonder the trade is in the mess it is.  Opinions are like arseholes, every one has one and most people are.

Can I Carry Out An Eicr?

Steve 3948 My  'theory' as you put it is exactly what I said it was.  My opinion. The schemes have been shown to be what they are.  Scams.  As for your NICEIC assessor he/she may be a little 'biased' shall we say.  I to have been assessed a few times Steve.  But the fact remains, the people...

Can I Carry Out An Eicr?

No! (IMHO)  How can you be competent to test to the 17th when you have not proved your competence by holding the 17th? Do you hold the 2395/2391?  If not walk away before you hurt someone (yourself included) The NICEIC will let you do so but that is them and this is me. Too many people think...

    Continuity Of R1 & R2 Conductors

I think what you said is the reverse of what I'm saying binky but I get your drift.  Some courses are dragged out (or so it may seem).  Some are long-winded to ensure you have enough time to digest and understand the theory (He/she may get it in their heads a lot quicker than me as I'm a thick...

    Test Certificate Form Filling Question

Did you know, and not a lot of people know this, that the EICR in GN3 (page 98) is filled in (IMHO) incorrectly. Circuit 6 - upstairs lighting - Zs is given as 8.50 ohms.  It goes on to say in the notes that the circuit initial high EFLI was due to loose terminals and that wiring has...

    Test Certificate Form Filling Question

If an RCD drives say 4, 6 or 24 circuits you only test the RCD once (full sequence of tests of course).  The RCD is tested NOT the circuits and  is best tested at the out-gong side of the unit NOT from a socket outlet ( it says this in GN3 as in 'load disconnected' )  What ever the I delta N up...

    Eicr

I quite totally with the Doc.  Lack of socket outlets would imply a safety risk due to extension leads being a hazard (as in tripping over the things) and problems if coiled leads are not un-wound when fully loaded. Cheap and nasty block multi-way adaptors stuffed into outlets.  Cables hidden...
