Hi guys! I've got an electric shower to replace. The new one is 9kW/230. The current circuit is 10mm with no RCD protection - old Wylex DB with plug in breakers. Is it ok to come off from the 45A breaker and to put 40A RCD in enclosure.

The shower currently is Mira -10.8kW. The cable is T&E 6mm, protected by BS3036-32A. It seems that in some point they upgraded the shower but not the circuit. The terminals were loose both in CU and the DP switch. There is no RCD...
I was IR testing ring cuircuit. One end of the cuircuit was OK but the other one showed neutral to earth fault. I checked before the continuityof the earth, line and neutral and was ok. Please any ideas of why do I get neutral to earth fault only on one of the ends.
