    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Can I please clarify my situation as it's obviously causing some disquiet.= wqith people thinking I don;t appreciate the advice. The initial problem re the tripping out seems to have been cured by my turning the immersion stat down to 45C. Testing water out of the tap suggests this is still...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Hi, follow up question. As stated by turning the stat down I have managed to prevent the constant tripping out. However, I still have an issue because the Gledhill has a top outlet that serves the main bathroom, kitchen and outside tap. This pipe is constantly hot, not a good idea to keep my...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Hi, been following the follow up posts. I have assumed that the safety trip is linked to the normal stat i.e it detects the water temperature in the same way as the usual stat. Is this correct, or is the safety trip a separate sensor in the head of the thermostat??

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Hi, thanks for the input Keep posting what the company who fitted your bathroom come up with. Have now been running the system at around 45C for close to3 weeks and no tripping out. As regards bacteria, I am not convinced as yet that the lower temperature setting will be an issue but then who...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Hi, as previously stated there is only one immersion element which is at the top. Since coming back from my break it looks as if setting the stat down to 45 degrees instead of 60 has settled things down as it has now been running for 5 days without tripping plus the 4 days before I went away...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Yes the immersion top is clear of any obstructions and has nothing immediately above it, the shelving is cut back Initial tests with the lower stat temperature setting suggest this may be the issue as it ran for 4 days with tripping out. I am away for a few days now so will have to see what...

Thanks for the replies. KME I have a ThermTec Ltd AFSZB-367 immersion heater and a 11 inch Backermatic BMST11 thermostat supplied by the retailer as a replacement if I decide to go that route. Have kept retailer in the loop and they are happy to go along with whatever I decide even if it takes...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

Thanks for the replies. As stated previously the immersion heater and stat are both manufactured by Tesla (UK) Ltd. The immersion is Euralloy Titanium 3KW 27inch and the stat is I think model TS230. After searching with Google found numerous forum posts where people are having exactly the same...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

hanks for the reply. 1) I wired the thermostat myself in accordance with the wiring diagram provided by Tesla. My plumber will not deal with any electrical wiring. Not rocket science, neutral to neutral terminal of immersion, earth to earth of immersion and live in to one side of the...

    Immersion Heater Stat Keeps Tripping

I recently had a new Gledhill EnviroFoam SE42X16IND Hot Water Cylinder installed. In accordance with the instructions with the tank I also had a new Euralloy 27 inch immersion heater & stat fitted, manufactured by Tesla(UK) Ltd of Birmingham. As I am currently on Economy 7 for electric (I...

Efficiency savings on oil fired boiler

Thanks steptoe. After talking through everything with my plumber I have decided that an ASHP isn't suited to my particular situation. A major factor in my decision is the fact that I only have one place that I could site the ASHP and that is in a small decked patio area. This is in close...

Efficiency savings on oil fired boiler

Hi, had a meeting with my plumber yesterday but confess I am still confused about whether the ASHP can generate enough heat to keep my existing radiators (as I think I have said before been told by the supplier no need to upgrade them with their ASHP) hot enough for normal use (say lounge 21C)...

Efficiency savings on oil fired boiler

Hi steptoe just a quick update to say just had the following reply from Wharf Plumbing It is our own brand which uses a Toshiba compressor, it is not a reconfigured air conditioning unit. It does not have a built in immersion for a number of reasons the main being you can use whatever source...

Efficiency savings on oil fired boiler

Thanks, there are clearly a number of questions I need to get answers to before I make any commitment. No point spending out on alternatives if there isn't any real cost savings in running costs.

Efficiency savings on oil fired boiler

Hi steptoe. I hope you are wrong but anyway this was already on my list of questions to ask once my plumber had visited and I knew more about any plumbing changes etc. The site states Fitting an 8KW unit into a three bedroom detached house and using an existing oil boiler as a back up (but...

Efficiency savings on oil fired boiler

Hi PC, another interesting post, going dizzy with all the options. Have never considered a secondary boiler i.e electric. I am assume I have a coil in my HWC, at least that's what a friend said I probably have and I already have a 27 inch 3KW immersion heater. Both my showers are power. The...
