Hi guys, I need to replace quite a few old eyball downlights in a property with IPX4 ones. The problem is I cannot find anything with a cut out of 100mm and 125mm. there are around 60 in the property so no easy to reboard and fill... Any suggestion? Cheers!

It's about 2 1/2 meters off the ground and it'll run both vertical and horizontal.

I suggest you to call a sparky. It could be different things... It happened to me once to find an earth-neutral fault. With no or little load RCD was fine, all light on RCD tripped, hob on tripped, and so on... good luck...

It depends on the earthing arrangement and where it is fitted. For instance, if the rcd is fitted to protect a special location with no suppl. bonding, etc. then code 1.

the switch should be at least the same size as the mcb or higher. The second one... doesn't sound right to me.

Tough one... I believe you can certify your job and put a code 1 note on it. That will cover your behind in case the client doesn't want to fix the existing installation.

The reason why I used a light bulb is that I wanted to check if the meter is reading something different from 0.00!

Hi, Does anyone know what "leading edge transformer" mean? I'm about to buy a dimmer switch for inductive loads (old downlight transformers wire wound) and the supplyer told me that the dimmer is compatible with leading edge transformers. Any idea? thanks
