Repacing consumer unit that has solar PV, question ?

Hi, the installer is MCS registered and NICEC registered. I understand your point that the more complaints they receive the more notice they will take, however I believe that complaints from Joe public will carry little weight, how would we know it wasn't correctly installed unless you were a...

Repacing consumer unit that has solar PV, question ?

"you are asking a lot of questions which are beyond the usual from those expected from the general public, and you appear to be very well informed as to the compliance, not only with BS 7671 but with the stated manufacturer's instructions." I'll take that as a compliment, thanks. I'm only well...

Repacing consumer unit that has solar PV, question ?

Can you guys point me to any official documents that state that the PV should not be connected to the RCD side of a CU that is supplying other circuits? I will take this up with the installer again and if necessary the inspector but I will need documentation to back up my argument. Thanks.

Repacing consumer unit that has solar PV, question ?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Due to the advice and discussions on this forum I raised the issue of the PV being on the RCD side with the installer who could see where I was coming from so contacted the MCS inspector for clarification, the inspector said it was ok to be on the RCD side ...I'm sure...

    Diplomat oven tripping out

Hi, our old Indesit fan oven worked perfectly except for when it had just been cleaned, then it would trip the RCD, turned out to be a hairline crack in the circular element that wraps around the fan as kme described. The element was housed behind a cover plate at the back of the oven so none...
