RCBO tripping problem that I cannot get to the bottom of.

If plugging the devices into another room via a lead and they not tripping ( I assume they being fed via a rcbo yes?) it must be the circuit in the room not the devices?

    Help

Your whole house is protected by the one Rcd so no safety concerns, the only thing is if you have a fault it will turn off all your circuits, a new CU with individual Rcbos will only turn off the faulty circuit, so unless you have money to spare dont worry about it

Correct way to joint 3 x 30 Amp cables, 30A JB not big enough

I'm old school and retired and have not used wago connectors but for me, I can see they are quicker to install, but I can't see how having a spring holding down a cable connection for an extended time will hold, but we will see in years to come.

    Wiring an internal light fitting

the two wires you see are coming from the same connector you have in the new fitting just pull it down" as MikeJ said be careful when you pull the fitting down the spring clips are powerful enough to give your fingers a nasty rap" and you will seeok ?

    Unvented Cylinder Immersion Heater Replacement

I wouldn't touch it either in the state it's in. I was always told that you need to crack the Im/heater to just loosen it before draining down as the tank is full and won't flex too much?

New to UK - general 13A Socket question

The point is that you can have lots of 13amp sockets on a circuit that are rated more than the Mcb/Rcbo, its the cable which is protected by the Mcb/Rcbo, not the plugged-in item that is why we have fused plug tops. And "2 double wall sockets connected by a 2.5sqm cable has been connected to a...

    Wifi into office/man cave

Dont understand why you said you tried the ubiquitin, I have mine installed in the roof of my 2story house and it gives me to my garage which is 7mts from my house close to 50 from my full speed 63mbps in the house? that office must be stopping the signal, big time?

    RCBO tripping

How close is the socket to the RCBO? as you could rewire it using a 4mm cable( assuming it was wired in 2.5mm?) then you can then change the 16a for the 32a rcbo
  15. B

    RCBO tripping

Well spotted Mike.J perhaps it had new cables that can't be seen without x-ray eyes. But he did state it was a 16amp tripping so its just a spare rcbo

    Ring main return cable route

I'm 72 now so been around a long time, but being described as an electrician doesn't make you a do-all tradesman does it? , I live in a seaside port which had shipbuilders yards (all gone now) who had electricians working for them, one of them got the site manager to allow him to first fix the...

Is My Tester Faulty Or Me

Any time you have to disconnect a circuit and reconnect after testing could arise to a problem, so pluging into a sockets etc is best for me as well that way the wiring is not disturbed is it ?

    Kva! How Many Amps

Unless I am mistaken KVA is just kilovolt-amps, or volts times amps divided by 1000, so 230v x 100amps÷1000 =23KVA without taking power factor into account and that 230volts is your standard incoming supply in the UK
