Thank you for comments. The answers to your questions are no it gas always been that colour and no the installer didn't refuse but said it was unsafe and stated about the steam as you have.

No it doesn't it is a very old socket with just the cooker light and a socket to put the extractor plug in. It' s yellows with red switches

Thank you. It has been there for over 10 years, apparently the cooker switch has got to be on. So they say.

Just had a new free standing cooker installed and the person installing has deemed it unsafe as ther is the electric socket above which is from the top of the socket 75cm. Is this okay or should it be moved. Thank you
