What does 9-30V DC supply mean?

This is the technical data for the sensor. As you see there is no mention of the power required. However, if the output can only carry max 150mA, am i right in assuming that the power requirement would be max. 150mAx12V=1.8W ?

What does 9-30V DC supply mean?

There aren't any instructions for the transformer, but this is the one: And now i wonder whether the wattage matters (as this is rated 10W)? The sensor is a Fibaro universal (wireless) sensor which will be connected to four tiny (UFH) floor temp. sensors: http://manuals.fibaro.com/binary-sensor/

What does 9-30V DC supply mean?

OK, any advantage to getting a higher-voltage transformer, e.g. 24V, over a basic 12V one?  Also, how do i tackle the single-cable issue? I have a 12V DC transformer (for LED lights), but that has two (black and red) wires.

What does 9-30V DC supply mean?

I need to install a sensor which requires a "9-30V DC +/-10%" supply. Clearly i need to buy a transformer to step down the mains voltage, but does 9-30V mean the transformer could be, say, 12V or 24V, i.e. anything between 9 and 30V? Or does 9-30V mean something else? FYI, the sensor only has...

Three RJ45 connectors on one-gang-size plate?

Thanks, but i think that's for CAT5e only.

Three RJ45 connectors on one-gang-size plate?

Thanks. I don't have any rooms with four CAT6s. Most are doubles, with two rooms - office and lounge - having three.

Three RJ45 connectors on one-gang-size plate?

Ta very much, that'll save me a fair bit of hassle changing boxes etc!

Three RJ45 connectors on one-gang-size plate?

He's a gonner (as he was supplied by the contractor), but was pretty useless anyway. He's done a similar thing in the lounge, but there he's put two in one box and one in another box right next to it! The extra box was supposed to be for the aerial/sat! So looks like i'll have to get my new...

Three RJ45 connectors on one-gang-size plate?

My previous electrician has wired three CAT/6 cables into a a one-gang-size box. The contractor has now been fired (for other reasons), and i'm trying to list outstanding works. My question is: can you get a one-gang-size termination plate with three RJ45 connectors? I couldn't see any on google...

    Am i being ripped off?

If i didn't accept the price (as i didn't with some other stuff such as stairs), I would have had to live with their basic electrics as it's not feasible to get another spark in whilst they're on the job. So, yes, my fault in a way. But i can still complain about them taking advantage of the...

    Am i being ripped off?

Yes, that's pretty-much hit the nail on the head! Some ppl have more money than sense - i don't. Also, some clients probably have good architects; unfortunately, mine was useless and pulled out mid project. So i have had to take on the role of project supervisor and architect (asking advice from...

    Am i being ripped off?

Their company's been in operation for over five years, so they've clearly been doing a good job of convincing the 99%; and they probably didn't bank on me questioning their prices.  Shutting down an LTD can be tricky if someone objects before liquidation. And it's no longer so easy to close and...

    Am i being ripped off?

Google. EDIT: This might be more difficult than i thought. Often you can review companies on Google, but their company doesn't appear to have the option. So if you any of you guys know of sites where reviews can't be deleted, i'm all ears! :-)

    Am i being ripped off?

No it doesn't make it acceptable. And they will get the online review they deserve upon completion. You need to remember i am between a rock and a hard place. I saw one project in the flesh and spoke to two of their former clients prior to starting the project, both of which were very...

    Am i being ripped off?

I decided to bite the bullet in the end and accept their inflated price. Just too much hassle to coordinate others and sign-off would be tricky too.

Thoughts on getting another spark in...

Thought about that, but it may only save me 500 or so. And the contractors will just add it somewhere else no doubt. Unfortunately, as someone else pointed out, they really do have me by the short and curlies! I will just try to limit their extras henceforth.

Thoughts on getting another spark in...

Switching contractor now is not viable. Contract says nothing about electrics or other specific parts of the overall project. Apart from the contractor not being able to measure headheight on the first floor correctly, the main job is being done well. I have already refused some additonal work...

Thoughts on getting another spark in...

Thought it best to start a new thread for this question. Most of you know the history, so i won't bother repeating it. If contractor digs her heals in and refuses to do the additional work for a fair price, what are the thoughts on here of getting my own spark in to do it? Any of you done sth...

    Neutral at light switch?

LMAO. I think I'll do this next week and post a selfie on here! Yep. I have no problem with that. But I think 1.5k should just about cover it, no?

    Neutral at light switch?

Yep. I was paying her per hour of uselessness. She has hasn't exactly broken our contract tho as she didn't provide specific terms of engagement. But, luckily for me, that itself is a breach of architects code of conduct. So i will as a minimum complain to ARB/RIBA.
