    Induction hob.

    Another useless answer!

    Induction hob.

No condemnation of my final solution, makes a change. And by the way I already have the cable.

    Induction hob.

I do not intend to take the supply from the CUs. I intend spurring  a 4 pole RCBO off the henley blocks giving a seperate 3 phase supply to the hob, with a 4 pole isolator located in the vicinity of said hob.

    Induction hob.

Can somebody please explain why not, using a 4 pole RCD. All anyone say is you cannot do that please explain why. The hob is just like 3 seperate appliances. The elements are grouped into 3 banks each fed by a seperate live ie phase unless bridged out for single phase use.

    Induction hob.

    Is a 3 phase meter.

    Induction hob.

Why should it be a wind up is a legitimate question?  To clarify is a definite 3 phase supply each phase having its own CU , picture attached. And no there is no main switch to isolate all 3 phases at the same time, might be a good idea to install one. So what is wrong with installing a 4 pole...

    Induction hob.

3 3 seperate CU each on its own phase. When were they changed then to require local isolation?
  8. B

    Induction hob.

Was originally 3 seperate cottages and assumption made each on different phases. How can it not comply as there is no requirement to have any sort of local isolation for an appliance?

    Induction hob.

Yes I do and why should I not be doing it?

Hi Not a commercial job is my kitchen at home.

    Induction hob.

Am about to install an induction hob and can either use single phase or three phase. Will use singles in conduit. Maximun load is 11Kw so either single phase in 6mm or 3phase using 2.5mm. If I use 3 phase I will get a normal cooker isolation switch to operate a 4 pole contactor, as am not too...

Finally got around to going to my daughter to sort this problem. What had happened was that a cable was assumed neutral  wjen  in fact a live. In the picture  the center blue cable should have been in the right hand , live, connector block. I have now sleeved the errant blue in brown and the...

You would only get a yellow cable on old types ie 3c and earth or 3c armoured. Green was still the earth cover not yellow.

Now know that the cable is yellow, so very strange. I suppose will only know for certain when I physically see it.

As I have not physically yet seen the setup yet since the change I am making assumptions. That the red going from the terminal block must go to the 1st CU with either of the neutrals, black or blue. Must be the case as everything works connected to CU1. I made the same assumption, as yourself...

Been ages since I was there and am losing the plot, bigtime. Originally were 4 storage radiators. All removed, 3 of those circuits used for panel heaters and other just converted into a single socket, so ignore the gibberish I wrote about 3  single sockets.

Unfortunately I never had need to look i the meter cupboard previous to this changeover. Seems a right collection of colours I am making the assumption, that as the flat is some 20 yrs old and untouched electrically, it will then have had the old colours. This is proved by the red incoming...
