New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

This is his response to me asking when he signed up. "I asked them on 1st Feb but they didn’t get back to me until 6th. I agreed to the terms on 7th and then put it active from 9th" I just don't think they like you John. Lol

New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

Wow, he's only been on it a month, and there wasn't a waiting list then. That's crazy.

New Octopus Tariff for Solar and Batteries- Octopus Flux

My mate went onto their tracker tariff, and is paying 17.8p for his electricity and 4.8p for his gas, he's loving it.

    Solar setup advice please

Yeh, that's true of my batteries, the usable is less than the gross.

    FOGSTAR DISCOUNT

Yeh, as my mate always says, EVs are just big toys, as simple as simple gets. I can't wait to own one, but also driving behind other people and seeing the s**t that spews out of the back, I can't wait until we are all driving them.

I've just been trying to replace a boost pressure sensor in my car, access limited as an aluminium Aircon pipe runs right over the top of the sensor, I managed to drop both aluminium nuts into the engine bay, the rubber pipe had literally melted to the sensor over the many years, and then my...

That's incredible when you look at it like that. And that level of degradation only occurs with full cycles, 0-100%, you'll get even more life if you do shallower charge cycles. These sort of stats need to be in the media, instead of all the rubbish people like Clarkson spout about throwing...

    FOGSTAR DISCOUNT

Wow, that's impressive. It's recycled bottles and some sort of plant derivatives isn't it. I do love the interior, but then I love the whole car. I was looking at what I could get for the same money as the i3, and all of them have better range, by a not inconsiderable amount, and on average...

Lol, no, I'm not sure anything will outlast carbon fibre and plastic, but not sure about the eco interior. Lol

    Grid control settings

Hey guys, I've want to follow some advice given by John to hopefully help with grid import, but I don't understand my grid control settings (import/export), and the manual doesn't have ANY information about them. And my supplier either doesn't reply, or if they do the language barrier means I...

Yeh from everything I've seen, read, heard, EV batteries are lasting incredible lengths of time, they say now that they will last longer than the actual car bodywork.

So your saying vehicle batteries, if charged daily, would only last 4 years ish, or is that 4 years before they start to degrade, or degrade to a specific level, eg 80%?

    Solar setup advice please

Yeh, my batteries claim 6k cycles, but with a DOD of 80%. I'd love to know how Givenergy are doing it, they offer something like 10 year, 100% DOD, unlimited cycle warranty.

Power tool batteries were dying after 6 months? You do all your own shop fit?

    Volts but no Amps

"Your Samsung is on fi-re". Those were the days. Lol Oooo, the 0.4s is definitely a deal breaker. Lol Tempting indeed, people had best hope I don't just think F'it one day. I can't wait to practice the smug look.

    Solar setup advice please

Speaking of battery prices, have a look in the for sale section on the forum, I'm selling some at less than half price.

    Solar setup advice please

For mainly the reason of high and low temps, I avoided the loft, and put my system under my stairs, which also happens to be where the CU is anyway, so super convenient. The stairs are in the centre of the house, so the under stair cupboard always stays at a very stable temp, which is great for...

    Solar setup advice please

Yeh that's the way I understand it. A full 0 to 100% charge/discharge hammers them, let's say it takes away 1% of its life. But then a lesser volume cycle will reduce the life by less, so giving effectively more cycles, let's say 50 to 100% reduces battery life by 0.5%, then 80 to 100%...
