15KW array, 14kwh battery...which hybrid inverter? single or three phase?

Hi all,

I am sizing a solar system for a friend, we are looking at 29 x 550w panels with 16 x 280ah lifepo4 cells (approx 14kwh) small battery backup for medical equipment. Which hybrid inverter would be best for this application? 3 x 5kw OR 2 x 7.5kw - OR 2 x 11kw (the largest single phase hybrid inverter i can find and allows room for expansion) or possibly a 15kw three phase hybrid inverter with phase converter ( if at all possible or cost effective)

It would be cheaper to stick with single phase if you only have single phase grid connection.

Look at Victron inverters, they can be paralleled up nicely or configured for three phase.

Thanks, he doesn’t need 3 phase, I am just trying to make things simple for him with 1 hybrid inverter to handle the 15kw, seems the easiest route is 2 or 3 units paralleled up? Maybe better now I think about it, if one fails, the other 2 should give us some redundancy…

also helps with the DC cabling for the panels, again one small fault doesn't take the entire system down and the generation is spread over multiple MPPTs ergo more efficient.
