Honeywell Galaxy 2-12 CO12 issues

My mate has just bought a house ...owner deceased

ADT alarm installed.....but previous owner slotted them and got somebody else to take it over...no idea who

house had a flood and trashed the RKP.....new one fitted 

managed to find the user code 

panel is now asking for a Master Reset.  We have managed to prog a new user and assign a code along with a prox fob and set 'master access' to this code

how do we apply a Master Reset?

when trying to set system after accepting the ACR fault and phone line faults ( no phone line in house ) system says 'setting,' with a row of black squares on bottom display line but system doesn't set and ESC soeant cancel it. Opening a door brings up a fault then we can accept this "fault' and exit tone stops and panel stops sulking

we are guessing that the Master Reset will cure everything but don't know how to do it...assuming our newly prog'd Prox fob will be adequate?

do any of our esteemed members have any input?

prob going to bin it all later and fit a texecom elite, but there is 6 months of work needed and he wants it to be secure as it is unoccupied
