What do the manufacturers installation instructions say?
'think' isnt good enough. you need to know what size it really is before any proper advice can be given. there's also other factors to consider. chances are its good to go, but for all we know, your '8mm' or '10mm' is the the physical side of the cable and not its CSA, and it could be a bit 2.5mm²...
