I’m currently carrying out a Periodic I&T on an installation that is 2 years old. I’ve done an IR test on a radial lighting circuit with x4 LED’s using combined LN to E method due to hazardous area. The result I’ve received is 15MOhms, is this an acceptable result? New to I&T so have a bit of experience to gain.

What do you think an acceptable value is?
and.. why are you doing a PIR on a 2 year old installation?

You probably need to familiarise yourself with Part 6 BS7671:2018..
Guidance Note 3... And most likely Table 64...

Some may say that lack of comprehensive understanding of such items would suggest that you should not be really be carrying out any Periodic Inspection & Testing without supervision / guidance?

Anything above 1MOhm.

Designer’s recommendation.

Thanks.

Was there with senior colleague but used to seeing new installs with higher readings.
