    motor inverter

Well finally got round to doing this and what a pain. I thought l was going crazy until l realised that the menu described in the instructions was different to the one on the drive. When l realised that l was able to configure it all quite easily

    motor inverter

thanks, looks like it will be best to do a factory reset and start again as l do not know what the previous owner has done. I will look at this sometime next week when l have some time

    motor inverter

Its a long time since l worked on motors and the first time on an inverter! Bought myself a wood lathe that it looks like someone has started to replace the inverter and given up. It is a schneider ATV12H07M2 inverter driving a .5 hp motor. To me it looks like the old normally open &amp...

Unsavoury customer. What would you do?

yep l too would go with the allergic excuse, defiantly would not revisit.

    Henly block

Yep l did. The only way to get the copper in was to remove a couple of strands, and l wasn't going to do that. When l got hold of some single blocks they was no issue with the size. The blocks were bought from toolstation

    Henly block

I cut the two sheaths to expose the copper, then cut the outer sheath back another 10mm. thats the way l was taught in the 80's when l was an apprentice with the lecy board. Notice that a lot of modern practice does not take the outer sheath back.

The 'What the courgette' things you come across

When l moved into my place these was an mcb two 2.5 that were fed from other s/o circuits took ages to sort out, but that wasnt as bad as the twin s/o l found under the taps of the bath!

    Henly block

These were deviantly RDL 100 amp rated but the terminals were all the same size  you can easily get 16mm into them but never 25mm. I got singles and fitted them instead terminal opening much wider and 25mm fitted with no problem

    Henly block

got a two pole RDL henly block from toolstation for a specific job. Started to install it and found that the terminals  are too small for 25mm. Rechecked specification of block its 100amp and mentions 25mm cable termination. This meant l needed a 60 miles round trip and 2 hours to pick up...

    you cant tell some people

Lat week went to an immersion heater not working, tested element had gone. However could not get the immersion out as the pipes feeding to and from the cold water tank passed over and by the side of the I/H. I looked at the plumbing but seeing the state of it and that l had a devil of a problem...
