Is there a reg stating the distance for a socket from a sink in a kitchen or a wash basin even if its in a factory as i cannot seem to find the regulation if indeed there is one !
I have read on other forums that a split rccd board is a good idea as you can have socket ie a freezer socket NOT on the rccd side as if you go on holiday it won't trip in the event of a fault elsewhere so your food will not be ruined.
But as all sockets now have to be rccd protected this must...
I was always led to believe that no one would come out and test someone elses work and sign it off as that person would not know where the electrician had run his cables or if the electrician installed the correct cabling especially where its hidden.
Roughly how much are sparkys earning in london as self - employed i don't mean finding your own work in the true sense of self employment but working through agencies for a main contractor are you still getting price work or 10 hrs pay for a 8 hr day etc.
Are there a list of building control phone No.s for different areas up and down the country as you may be working under different councils. Also as you are allowed to change like for like can you change a dis board without informing the local building control ????
I assume that you have to fit a double pole rcbo at the consumer unit to protect your sockets as they may be used outside in the garden , ie in the event of a fault both the live and neutral are isolated , would you be allowed to fit a single pole rcbo for sockets ??
