Whats The Best Way Into The Trade As An Older Learner With Family Etc?

Thanks Zeespark. I've passed my 17th Edition already and just finished and passed my level 2. I'm not sure the testing and inspection is as hard as i'm told the 2391 was, it's been changed & split in two now by C & G to 2394 & 2395 but I might be completely wrong! I've been trying to...

You can't claim anything if you work on a voluntary basis i.e without pay. Even the benefits office will not pay you benefits unless it's work experience they've organised (they don't offer work experience in trades) or it's for a charitable organisation. So working volunatry is a no go on both...

Thanks Miss Sweden, I had a look on there but there was nothing local to me. I can get plenty of voluntary oppertunities but without milking the whole single parent thing I need to cover my childcare costs so it's a little bit tricky for me to juggle it lol. I'm doing the odd bit here and there...

Part Qualified Female Trainee Looking For Work In Bradford Or Reasonable Travelling Distance From

Hi, I'm just completing my C & G level 2, passed so far with one more exam to do on 7th May. I've also passed my 17th Edition Regs and undertaken a course to learn to plaster & tile (figured it could be useful for patching cables back in). I am farely desperate to get some more hands...

Thanks you. I kind of guessed some of the tester features would be a bit of a gimmick eg the Bluetooth and all that. I'll try a metre and see how I get on. I've tried a few different places and they've all said they want a school leaver rather than someone my age, guess its probably because...

Whats The Best Way Into The Trade As An Older Learner With Family Etc?

If it's any consolation I'm in the same boat only I had to do the 2357 as there was no wehere offerring the 2330 in my area without me having a work placement with suitable experience. I'm a single mum too which doesn't exactly work in my favour. It's frustrating when you've got the drive and...

    Hello With A Few Questions

They've done away with 2391, you've got to do 2394 & 95 to get full testing & Inspection under your belt now. They're around £900 to complete where I am and can be done on a week or so crash course. Good luck. Jo

Hi I'm just finishing my 2357 Level 2, got my Requirements of 17th Edition cert and looking to do Level 3 in September. Only slight downside to this is I'm having to do them with no proper work experience as I'm apparently too old for an apprenticeship (29 and i've been written off already lol)...
