Hi,

I'm just completing my C & G level 2, passed so far with one more exam to do on 7th May. I've also passed my 17th Edition Regs and undertaken a course to learn to plaster & tile (figured it could be useful for patching cables back in).

I am farely desperate to get some more hands on experience within the industry and was hoping that I could find a salaried role around Bradford or within a reasonable travelling distance (Leeds, Halifax, Keighley etc).

Unfortunately as I'm knocking on a bit now at the grand old age of 29 I've been too old for the apprenticeship roles I've found advertised locally so I'm hoping that someone on here maybe able to give me a chance or maybe have a vacancy for a junior or electricians mate that I could apply for?

I previously worked as a Project Co-Ordinator for a company specialising in metering and communal heating schemes which involved hands on work on sites therefore I am famailiar with working on construction sites also. My CSCS card from this role has now expired however this was for the plumbing element, I intend on renewing this with electrical element once I've finished my final exam.

Any help, advice or possible job offers would be grately appreciated.

Thanks

Jo

JoWW;  get in touch with City Training Services in Little Germany.

They may be able to assist.  Best of luck.

Thank you, I tried them a while back but they weren't able to help. Will try them again.

It could be worth it.  A while ago funding was nearly

only available for 17 to 18 year olds.  I think this is

changing so...I do know that they like people who

turn up and they can have a look at you and meet

you.

Get your CSCS card sorted, just get a general operatives card for now, their are loads of places you can do it, just go to the construction skills website to book it, it only costs about £17 this will get you on to most sites. Send us a PM with your details and we will put you on our system, we are always looking for electricians and mates. as we are picking more work up on a weekly basis at the moment all over the north west.
