Wiring a Twin F Connector Euro Module

Thanks for the advice roys; I'll probably go down the route you have suggested 👍

Wiring a Twin F Connector Euro Module

Many thanks roys. I had a look for the Click version which has two sockets and it's the MM406WH.  Looking at the diagram in their catalogue it looks like the connections on the back of the module require a connector on the cable. I could probably get away with a single socket but I have 2...

Wiring a Twin F Connector Euro Module

Hi, This is a quick question on wiring up a twin F connector Euro module.  I have two satellite cables coming up through conduit into a back box which has the Euro modules mounted on a faceplate.  I've put right angled F connectors on the cables but find that there isn't enough space to then...

    Cable Runs and Conduit

Many thanks for the replies.  Just for clarity, I'm using PVC conduit; the cables won't be exposed to the plaster. I just wasn't sure of the best way for the cables to leave/enter the backbox. I'll look into enlarging the cutouts on the backbox and I'll have a look at the ducting suggested.

    Cable Runs and Conduit

Hello again, I have a follow up question I was hoping for advice with. I'm planning on using metal backboxes to mount the brushplates on.  However, the metal cut outs aren't large enough to pass through all my cabling (e.g. HDMI). Could I just cut off the side of the box where the cut outs...

    Doorbell Not Working

Thanks for the replies. Is that first image with the fuses the transformer?  The house is 90+ years old and we've got an electrician who is going to help us with re-wiring. Is it not worth trying to find the fault then? I could look into getting a temporary wireless battery operated doorbell...

    Doorbell Not Working

After tracing the wiring, I have found what I think is the transformer.  It looks pretty old. The sounder looks like this:

    Doorbell Not Working

Thanks Murdoch. I think I forgot to attach the image... Will I need a multimeter to test the transformer and bell?

    Doorbell Not Working

Hi, I'm trying to work out why my doorbell isn't working. It must've stopped working sometime in the past couple of weeks; we have not been doing any work in the vicinity of the doorbell, wiring, or chime so I wonder whether it's something has worn out, there's a loose connection or fault in...

    Cable Runs and Conduit

Thanks everyone. ProDave, I should be OK to rewire the plug. Kerching,  I just checked and the plug is slim and is at a right angle.  I'll check out CPC anyway; looks like a good resource for future use. Murdoch, that's a good point.  The plan is to mount the TV on the wall so I'll get the...

    Cable Runs and Conduit

Thanks Sidney. I was planning on using conduit to run the kettle lead between brush plates.  Is oval conduit the best for this application? I was also conscious of running the power cable and data cable in parallel up the chase even though it's a short distance.  To compensate for this I was...

    Cable Runs and Conduit

Hi all, Hopefully I've posted this in the correct forum. I’m in the process of running some telephone and ethernet cabling to my living room as well setting up some cable management where the TV etc. will be located. The sockets I have planned are a single gang faceplate with RJ11 and RJ45...

    Hello

Hello everyone, just a quick introduction from myself. I'm a keen amateur DIY'er and I'm slowly updating parts of my house.  I'm hoping to pick up some tips and advice as I plan various changes.  For major work I will hire an experienced electrician but I'd like to try and improve my knowledge...
