What's the earthing system if the main earth comes from under the floor with the main incoming cables?

In my house, the mains supply comes in as two cables, into the service head. The main earth comes from under the floor along with them and straight into the consumer unit. The unit is then bonded back to the steel outer sheathing of the two incomers. What type of system is this?

R1 R2 on a 3phase circuit - what's the point in testing to each line conductor?

If we are testing the continuity of the CPC, what's the point in testing between all three phases? Someone at work insisted upon it but i don't see the point. Was told it was mandatory as there were three phases but we're only using the phase as a wander lead. I asked well what if we simply did...

Do GN3 and OSG contain errors?

On page 69 of Guidance Note 3 it shows a picture of a test of a whole consumer unit for Insulation Resistance. The info for the test says it shows 'an L-N test' but in the picture it shows one probe in the L of the main switch load-side and one probe on the earth bar. Is the guide wrong or am...

Am i confused or is this right?

The guy in the video is saying if we remove bonding from the water pipe, and there's a fault, we will then get a potential on anything that's metal and if we touch the metal object and the water pipe we'll get a belt. But isn't he at 0 potential anyway and so touching the pipe is irrelevant...

Distinguishing between these forms of TNS vs TNCS

In this vid he shows a TNS with a 3 core incomer and the other 3 standard types (TT, TNCS, TNS with sheathing earth connection) How can we identify the difference between the TNCS and the TNS with a 3 core incomer? Seems to me that both will have an earth coming out from behind the capping on...

Confused with the regs on maximum disconnection times for RCD's

Regs state (Page 64 of latest edition) that Table 41.1 shall be applied to final circuits. But it then talks of RCD protection being used to satisfy these maximum times. If we're testing the RCD not the MCB's why is it mentioning which circuit is being used? We're supposed to test the outgoing...
