Yes I understand that. It’s more a case of not having the connection team turn up and say they can’t install a meter as there is nowt to connect it to. I want everything done correctly and by the book but people are busy and I’m at sea so that’s why I want the minimum stuff I need for connection...

In this case the layman does understand, it’s why I’m asking!

Is that ref earth issue? Can I still get just meter and isolater and address other stuff later?

@Fleeting im at sea and cannot get pic of earth arrangement in the house right now.

We’ve just had an extension built and the sparky did mention all this but as I say I’m defo not a sparky and don’t understand.

Mmmm well over my head now? I thought if the garage and house where completely separated it was ok earth wise?

So the minimum I need for connection to take place is a meter and a 4 pole isolator of the correct rating?

The house is staying on its original single phase.

I was going to disconnect the supply from the house and use the 3 phase supply for everything in the garage.

That is not priority but could be sorted.

No and I stay well away from anything more complex the plugs or the odd light fitting.

Yes I think so. I’m doing zero wiring as I don’t know what I’m doing. But I can mount the ‘stuff’ that will be required so when they come and fit the meter they have something to connect it to. Or am I simplifying what needs to be done to much?

For clarification the garage currently has leccy fed from my house. This will be disconnected so the garage will have a seperate 3 phase supply. It’s mainly just for running a starter motor and alternator testing machine.
