    Pump overrun and Satisfied / Call crossed

    Can somebody firstly tell me what the reason is for the pump overrun on combi boilers? Secondly what would the fault be if the Satisfied and Call connections were crossed from the cylinder thermostat? Many thanks Rob

    Air Con bonding

    In a loft space for a flat an air conditioning system has been installed and supplied on own circuit from Fuseboard.Will this require supplementry bonding to adjacent light circuit and if so at every light accessory or will just one point suffice???????Thanks Rob

    New shower circuit

    I have a new circuit shower to fit with no old circuit to use.I am correct in saying i cannot run cable in the cavity ( regs )to reach the loft for the drop down into shower. Is it ok to chase up internal walls to achieve this with metal capping of course? Cheers Rob

    moving a consumer unit

    I have got a C.U to move so existing circuits will need extending from old position. What is the best method for these connections ,ie JB's , as no access will be available to these connections?????? With thanks

    Part p

    I know part p regs apply to domestic but would it also apply to a football club premises ie bar , kitchen , VIP room , changing rooms etc. I only ask as Chairman wants things done his way which does not comply with part p.

    Spur

    Can anyone confirm for me, if it is ok to run a spur off an existing socket(ring) horizontally along the wall to a corner and then along this adjacent wall for another double socket.I think this is ok! Thanks

    Clamp meters

    Can anybody reccommend a good clamp meter that is capable of reading as low as milli-amp's on AC. This is for measuring Earth Leakage current.Not particularly interested in any other functionality. Thanks

    Cylinder thermostat

    I take it that the "Calling" signal will be live if the water temp has dropped to low in th cylinder??? What should "Satisfied" signal be during this??? Then what happens when cylinder temp is ok with respect to "Calling" and "Satisfied" signals. Also how does this correspond to my thermostat...

    Thermostat testing

    Can anyone tell me of a way to test the thermostat that attaches to the hot water cylinder?? Would i get any readings using low ohm meter and vary the temp adjuster???? Thanks Rob

    outside points

    I have a customer who requires a power outlet to supply a caravan in the back garden. Also he wants some outside lights fitted at the top of said garden. Can i run one SWA to power all the above or what is the best way????? Thanks Rob

    Hello. I would like to know why my measured R1+R2's , measured Ze do not correspond to my measured Zs's in the above formula for all circuits? I was just doing this for confirmation to proove to myself but it has backfired. What is the best way to meet the formula with respect to testing...

    Hi all,i have got to split a consumer unit in a pub so that upstairs and downstairs are on seperate meters / bills. Firstly ,the supplier will have to come and fit another meter!     overhead cables

    i need to get a supply from the house to a shed some 3 meters from the house.The height of the suspended cable will be about 2.5 meters. According to the regs it should be 3meters for pvc cables in steel conduit. With posts to raise the cable this will all look a bit crap. What other options...

    Zs on a TT installation

    hi all, i have just changed a couple of socket for a customer and got a Zs of 223 ohms which is good.Then i went to CU and noticed main earth only 4mm and in a bad state so did method 2 and got no reading at all!!!!!!!Also no bonding to water service!!!!!!!!!
