I have to install two outside lights. Is 3 core flex in white or black ok to use clipped direct to wall.Or , are there any other cable options which i can make use of, thanks.

Rob69. As long as the cable satisfies any provisions regarding external influences, and i would say impact was the most onerous here, then it will be o.k.

a1spark.

isnt volt drop on flex quite high compared to other cable types, might be worth some consideration.

Some of the considerations for flex outside are:-

When the weather goes really cold it loses its flexibility,

(not a worry if fixed to a wall.)

UV rays from sunlight can reduce life of sheath, causing faster deterioration,

(not a worry if kept shaded out of direct sunlight.)

Physical knocks bumps and wear and tear,

(not to great a problem if carefully selected position or additional mechanical protection.)

erm

I think me brain is empty again now.....
