2330 Level 2 204 Practical Exam (Testing) Questions

I've got a couple of questions I have to complete before I hand it in, and I'm not 100% sure on the answers. Here are the questions:

Explain why V1 (165V) and V2 (136V) do not add up to the Supply Voltage (230V).

Explain why the additional Capacitor reduces the supply current.
