we had an aerial on the roof when I were a lad, it got hit by lightning & blew the telly to bits! my dad put the aerial in the loft and no probs with reception or exploding telly's.

Just having 2nd thoughts about the distribution amp if it ever goes and it will i might just put up 3 aerials outside. And then its no maintenance by time 3 amps go you might aswell of put up 3 aerials

does a multiswitch amplify the signal?

I have a 30m modulated analogue feed coming from a multiswitch and its fine, as are the digital and satellite feeds too.

yes, unless you have a stick you can reach it with from the window to knock in up / down to point elsewhere
