Disconnecting solar panels for roof repairs

As above, I've been asked to disconnect panels and want to know the correct procedure.
Obviously there will be AC & DC isolators.
Do you do this when there is little or no sun?
Do you cover the panels prior to disconnection?
etc...
I will ensure somebody with more knowledge undertakes the reinstall and commissioning.

Even on a dull day there will enough energy to give you a nasty shock!

Shut down the inverter by isolating AC and DC isolators. Once in stalled condition, it's safe to disconnect the panels without any sparking or arcing. You will need some MC4 spanners to get the panel connections apart.
