Any one had a problem with the above?

2 Kwatt Heating lamps, 20 Amp Switch, "sticks" on, unable to switch it Off.  Turn off at MCB (16 Amp C Type) Switch returns to normal.

Tried 3 types of switch, all same problem. ended up Re fitting OLD MK 20 Amp grid switch mods which work OK.

Sorry just realised posted in wrong section, not really DIY !

Sadly just modern carp rubbish switches, not capable of actually operating at their "rated" current. Isn't it about time this sort of stuff was actually tested? In the old days of the kite mark, they would not have been able to sell them if they didn't functions at their rated current.

I had a similar thing recently with FCU's not capable of actually supplying a 13A load without melting.

you could always use a 45A switch!!!

Thanks Dave, yes think you might be right, tried Denmans Designer brand Grid at first, then Crabtree but all just the same, amazed that an 8 Amp or so Load inrush could not be coped with by a 20 Amp switch. Must be some inrush on those things!

Gave up fitting 13 Amp FCU s on Storage heaters and Immersions after finding so many of them burnt out as you say, seemed that the Fuse holder just not up to the job.
