A double socket is only rated to 13A according to MK. but i dont think this is a good idea. its a very little known fact, and is very open to abuse. anyone can easily plug 2x 3KW appliances into a double socket and expect it to work.

Even if it is rated to 20A, there is still a high chance of overload. expecially for those sockets in a kitchen

its about time manufactures started engraving 'Max load XX amps' on the front....

or have a built in 13A fuse like 3g sockets

 
lots of crimps... maybe a large enclosure in ceiling void to save insulating over each join
Push fits are a much better option as there is a higher chance of failure on crimps used on soild core.
