Neutral wire keeps melting - immersion heater

Neutral wire overheating. Changed immersion and 2 new thermostats. Still melting the blue wire insulation on the terminal. We only notice when the heater stops working and find the blue wire burnt through and not making contact

what make of isolator do you have ?

If you overheat copper flex to the point of burning out the heat travels along it and oxidises the copper, making a good connection impossible. Hence unless you cut it back a good deal further than initially appears necessary it will burn out again.
