Hi all,

Question mainly to the NICEIC domestic installers here. When you're working outside of your scope, what certs, PIR reports do you use?

I use the easy cert standard format. I have been questioned a few times by insurance companies as to my qualifications but I have managed so far to appease them.

I am going ac this year, simply because more customers are questioning me, and I am sick of explaining the rules or regulations.

I'm a NICEIC full scope DI and the only limitation on out of scope works is that you don't use any reference to the NICEIC (including their logo) I don't even put my registration number on the forms!

So you could use the model forms or any other without any scheme logo

Yes I realize this, but I was wondering what forms people prefer. You can buy packs of EIC's, PIR's, MW's etc from wholesalers and the like, or indeed use the easycert forms, or the very basic model forms from BS7671. I was just interested in what people prefer to use.

I've been making some myself, trying to make them look professional:

I bought some PIR forms from NIC without their logo and use them. I agree what you're producing does look equally professional but it must be very time consuming. I have too much on at the moment to even think about that.

Actually it doesn't take me long to produce them. I'm getting quite good at it :D

Just go AC and save all the trouble! ;)
After the experience I've just had with the NICEIC I don't think I'll bother. I'll be going back to Napit, so my forms will come in handy and get alot of use ;)
