SELV circuits

could any kind person out there give me a hand with these questions ?

a, explain what is meant by a seperated circuit ?

b,state why a SELV circuit must be inspected and tested ?

can`t find these in the big red or guidance notes 3 could anyone point me in the right direction. cheers

seperated is electrically isolated from the mains supply. i.e 12v downlights, shaver socket (but this is no SELV)
