Hello all,

Been a lurker here for a while and thought it's about time i posted :)

Currently carrying out a periodic inspection and test on a department store and wanted to ask a question about HF lighting testing.

The regs state that it's fine to do a Line-Neutral linked to CPC for testing IR, presume that you'd mark this on the test results as L-E only? Will be testing at 250V anyway just in case, presume this will be sufficient? Biggest issue so far seems to be missing DB blanks, DB Schedules, holes in trunking left after upgrades etc.

For info, the light fittings are Twin PLL 55w recessed mods with philips / osram / tridonic gear.

Have also noted that an old busbar riser is fed in VIR (VRI), looks in good condition physically, size would be in the 150+mm category, will be doing submain and riser checks in a couple of weeks when sunday closing comes back as need to do this out-of-hours. Hopefully it will test out ok and can be left in service? will be putting a note in report stating it's age and that consideration should be given to replacement at earliest convenience. Will also recommend more frequent inspection, atleast a visual every 12 months with testing every 24 months. Does that sound unreasonable?

Thanks all,

Steve.

Put same value in all 3 boxes for IR and list ln to e and 250v as a limitation of testing for the reason you gave above.
