Cheers I thought it would be tns but my next question would have been what about when you can't drive a rod in, suppose where this most likely will go there will always be ground or a big metal thing to get on.

Coach builders X( .........why put the led driver where it is in the way...............t will be getting relocated & the poor terminations will be redone.

The trick we used to use in 'telly OB land was a metal plate under one of the rear wheels. If the concrete/tarmac is wetted first & then the vehicle driven onto the plate is makes a surprisingly good earth.

 
not a bad shout Ady, but the crews then drop the leveling jacks and lift the wheel off the plate, end result possible poor earth. Far better to drive a rod or drop rod into a drain on clamp a lamp post/armco

Reminds me the job is now complete and last pics need posting.

 
Suprised anyone is allowed to drop a rod into the ground the way the HSE react when something goes wrong! while providing as little information about the incident as possible.
