Faulty "superswitch" immersion heater timer?

Hi. I currently have a superswitch immersion heater timer and I think it is faulty. When the switch is in the "TIMER" position, I do not receive hot water (maybe luke warm but not hot) even though the dials are set to come on in the morning and evening. If I put the switch to "ON", I can be assured of hot water.

Before I take any actions I would like to ask two questions:

1. Is it that I could have a faulty timer?

2. Is it possible to update this to a digital timer? I would like to have more control of my heating over the weekend and not be restricted to the same week day settings.

It looks to me like that none of the tappets are set, but it could be the picture quality [which is why I asked if it worked before]

Digital timers are available, just make sure you get one that will switch your 'load'...normally 13Amp............... :coat
