Who remembers the first record they ever bought  , this was mine .   Yeah yeah I know ...a long time ago ...but few in the UK had heard this style before  .      This was an older blues number by Junior Parker  given the Elvis treatment .

I knew someone would say that Apprentii ;)    , but before this stuff there was nothing that interested teenagers ( Who had just been invented at that time)  None of your Simon Cowell discoveries back then you know ...lip synching to their own doctored tracks with all the flat notes electronically sharpened & tweeked .

I really don't remember, but Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers was an early purchase. I do remember dad coming home with a record player, and the Jungle Book songs album when I was less than 10years old.

Not sure if it was the first.. but I do remember buying...

The reason being, I can always remember my mate from school coming round to listen to it on my mom and dads Stereo record player..

( I only had a little portable Mono turntable that closed up with a carry handle on the side!! )

But back in that era my mom went and worked an evening "twilight" shift at one of the local BSR factories where they assembled record turntables...

(so she got staff discount to buy a record player for home!!!)

In their heyday BSR manufacture one quarter of all record turntables sold!

I got a gut feeling that my first record may have been one of the many Top-Of-Top-Pops compilation records

(with your favorite session musician sound-alikes-ish)

Can't remember which...

But there were definitely some of them in our house

Maybe its was just the women on the sleeves I liked....  not the tunes!!!!!
