If you put this into your van, what is going to supply the van?
from hookup, or generator, just a caravan inlet wired to this, then to supply the van, nothing major used in it 1x led light and 2x sockets for key machines only 1 used at a time

thinking this is the right wiring from working it out ? says no busbar needed on this version, yes its cheap but if it works for what i need, not going to be permanent, its a put me on till get new van and fully kitted out.

obvs all connections will be neat and secure lol big fingers and drawing lines on phone not the best way

I would not be installing that. You have an AC RCD which are now all but excluded from BS7671 and I am not sure what t <0.1s means, time delay?
You certainly don't want that on a 30ma RCD providing additional protection.

Caravan manufacturers and caravan dealers seem to specialise in stocking come completely obscure "no name" rubbish.

If from a dealer, take it back as non compliant with BS7671 (which covers caravan installs as well) and buy something better. A well known make of mini CU often sold for sheds etc would be infinitely better.

(Nothing personal to anyone) The thread has been severely edited. This is still the UK's friendliest forum. :)

It is in the DIY section, people who know no better ask here seeking good advice. Insults do not help. Please bear in mind, in D.I.Y. sometimes the OP does not grasp what is being said.

found a BS7671 consumer from screwfix

seems a lot better and only £40, so going to go with this

Whilst that is a reasonable CU, I am not convinced it is actually the best choice for a caravan installation?

As it is quite large for just 2x MCBs + 1x RCD main switch..
And the enclosure is a quite sturdy metal construction..
Not the best choice for a caravan where reduced weight is a consideration and non-combustible enclosure is not a major requirement..?

I have fitted the above unit for customers in garages & garden summer house's, plenty of room, nicely laid out..
but they do require the metal enclosure to be cut and glands fitting at cable entry points..

I haven't done any googling...
But I would have thought an equivalent type unit with a plastic housing would be more appropriate for a caravan installation?
