I'm looking to find documents on installing mcs certified solar pv, and what the requirements are for mcs standard.

It's both. To get MCS cert you have to use approved gear

As always, looking a little further into this, according to Victron, "The kit needs to be ENA type approved (which it is), the MCS 'product certification' scheme seems irrelevant as far as I can tell. It appears just the installer/business/person side of things needs to be MCS certified." I checked to see if my Multiplus II was MCS approved and it isnt...........

Apologies, I read it that you were maybe thinking of a DIY install to MCS standards........
