 And do I have to split the ends to connect to the two N & L screws on the terminal board? Or is it sufficient to connect N & L to just one screw because they would be linked on the terminal board anyway?

Yes, there is a blank plate but without the cable cut out. But I guess I can make the cut out in it myself.

Also the cover for the terminal board is missing, and I can't find a spare for sale anywhere. Would it be a good idea to at least tape it over with an electrical insulation tape?

I already told you in post #8 how to connect it.

If the cover for the outlet plate is the one stood on top of it in your picture it has a knock out for the cable.

If the metal cover over the terminals on the cooker is missing, make one. It's only a flat bit of steel held on with a couple of self tapping screws.

To be honest I would hope you got that cooker for free from freecycle, if you paid money for it in that state you were done.

£20 for a little bit of steel plate.  I would get my hacksaw and drill out and make one.
