Do a lot of general pat testing ,mostly buy to let properties, cookers etc.

Am now getting requests to test IT equipment.

My understanding is that new computers need testing after 4 to 5 years.

But what then ? I'm ok with the soft test (200mA bonding ) but what about the insulation test ? Should I just do a leakage test instead.

Help ! I don't want to turn away customers, but I definitely don't want to damage their IT equipment in any way .

Any thoughts gratefully received. PS I am currently using a qtech KT 71.

computers may be a 4 year test depending on application. best read 'in service inspection and testing code of practice'

200 mA continuity test is fine on IT equipment. The isulation resistance test is also fine if you are using a PAT Testing machine, as it will short out live and neutral and test to earth.
