Hello all,

Was just thinknig about these new smart meters that send the meter readings and other info to the supplier all the time. If one of these lost power for any reason, for example if the main fuse fell out do you think it would send that info to the supplier? Not seen one yet but was just thinking.

Not seen one either. The main fuse fell out !!! Blimey, did it cut it's own seals too ??
They must do as customer never knows anything about where the seals have gone and the fuses do sometimes seem to fall out just before I do a c/u change and jump themselves back in again after!!

you never know they may have a isolator built in.. fingers crossed......

Had some guys from a company called UESL down a couple of weeks ago looking at commercial smart metering solutions and apparently a smart meter has a memory of approximately 1.5 years, not sure if it registers mains interuptions though, could you not just say that there was a power cut anyway? without CCTV surely they would never know it had been removed :)
