The only negative I can think of is , as with all the Escorts , the driver's seat has no up - down adjustment for those of us who not that tall .

However the steering wheel is adjustable and the instrument lights are dimable.
typical short arse. cant see the road over teh steering wheel, but at least you can dim the lights so they dont blind you!

My first combo was the 1.7DI (izuzu) I called it the 1.7 DIE as I couldn't wait for it to die. Its previous driver had front ended it and no one had bothered to fix it so it was leaking badly and it stank badly!

It had other issues but the engine was good, it's still going, Myself and the others refuse to drive it though, all the locks are knackered from being left on an estate forever It was supposed to be sold years ago but were a charity and don't need to make a profit...

So if you get a combo, get some BFO aftermarket locks as the standard items are vulnerable to undesirables with screwdrivers.

I have opposite problem and find bulkheads don't allow sufficient leg room for me in small vans. One of the things I like about the Transit connects is the rather large headroom - I can were my site hat and not get anywhere near the roof.

We did have a small citroen van - the fuel injectors died and cost of a set of injectors was more than the van was worth, so when buying an older cheaper van, check it doesn't smoke on the over-run which indicates shagged injectors.

:)

I think , as with the  Escort , the driver's seat has sunk due to useage .  On an earlier Ford , the seats were interchangable , just the adjusters on the other sides ...
