So you have been charged £100 for someone to come and change the thermostat which blew up again because they didn't or can't test the immersion heater.
Incompetent does not even begin to describe it. Criminal might come a bit closer. I would be ashamed to charge that much for not being competent to at least diagnose the fault.
I wonder what trading standards would make of the situation.
