Stranded copper cable

Got a rewire on at the moment. Customer has recently had bathroom done tiled floor etc... Trouble is there are a couple of sockets in the room below, They wired in copper stranded 2.5mm. Can i leave this cable in and just connect to new ring . insulation resistance test ok. Or shall i give them the news there nice new tiles will have to come up.
