Found a strange looking twin and cpc today. Looking at the cable I thought it was VIR cable. It was black, but under that was an aluminium (I think) armour, and under that it was the grey sheath of the twin and cpc. I have took some pics but I do not know how to upload pics from iPhone. Have any of you seen this before?

Does anyone know how to upload pics from the iPhone lol cos I have to email them and do it on the laptop lol
1) hold iPhone between thumb and forefinger

2) walk to bathroom

3) with free hand open toilet lid

4) release grip

5) flush

The added bonus of the carrying out of the above sequence is that all of a sudden you get your friends back

;)

I had to score the outer black sheath with my knife, under that was a aluminium type of armour, I had to get hold of it and twist it many times to get it up to the length of cable I needed. Under that was the grey sheath of the twin and earth.

was it a foil or a stranded sheath? headbang

its not that hard a question, is it?

No it was the same shape as twin and cpc, but just thicker due to the outer sheath and aluminium. I wish I knew how to post it in here.

When you go to reply, before you start typing theres a blue plus sign in the main body of the text, press that and then upload your image

It must be that cable that was pushed to satisfy 17th when it came out, where you could just clip it direct to wall, earth sheath etc.
I think it will be older than that, possibly a specialist screened cable for the Nuclear Industry or for areas of high electromagnetic interference.

The installer probably worked for a major company and was doing a side job. The cable sounds like some used in the 1960's although I have not seen the configuration as described, they were mainly multi core so would have (old colours) red, black, green and a metal screen wire or shield as they were called.

the bit that is getting me is the uninsulated cpc, :|

never seen any like that before where the uninsulated cpc wasnt in contact with the screen.

:C
